Only one week until the Atlanta marathon (and cheering for the Olympic Trials the day before!) So excited! The weather looks pretty good too; it is going to be a fun weekend, all about running! Before I dive into my recap of training, I want to point you towards my review of the SQUID GO ice/compression device. I shared my experience in THIS POST. Check it out and let me know what you Continue Reading
Weekly Recap: 2 Weeks Until the Houston Marathon
Happy Sunday! I'm here with my weekly recap of training for the Houston Marathon, which is coming up in just two short weeks! (P.S. the pic above is courtesy of the talented Ami Koch Photography!) (another P.S. If you missed it, be sure to check out my recap of all 2018 HERE!) Here's how training went this past week: Monday: New Year's Eve! I did have to work, but was done a bit early. Weekly Recap: 16 Weeks Post-Broken Leg
Sixteen weeks post-broken leg: I think it's about time to start counting down to something fun and exciting, right? Hopefully soon! If you’re new to this blog, you can read my story in Runner’s World HERE. This post, this post, and this post are also a great place to catch up. Weekly Recap: 13 Weeks Until the Boston Marathon!
Happy Sunday all! How was your fitness and fitness fashion this week? Let me know in the comments! After last week's 60 mile week, my coach had me do a bit of a cutback this week. There was still one intense workout, but overall, this was an easier week. Lower mileage, no doubles, more resting. Here's how it went down: Monday: Tempo workout! 2 miles to warm-up, 6 miles at a 7:35 pace, 2 Continue Reading
Weekly Recap: Thank Goodness for the Treadmill!
All I can say about this week is thank goodness for my treadmill. Minneapolis was hit this week with a CRAZY cold spell- cold even for Minneapolis. Combined with a very long and busy work at week (I ended up with 65 hours at the office- that's a lot for me), I didn't have a ton of time to do much more than squeeze in my miles early in the morning in the basement on the Landice. I love that Continue Reading
Fitting Remarks: How We Chose Our Treadmill.
After many years of wishing for one, we finally purchased a treadmill! Hallelujah! . It's my new best friend (after Matilda, of course.) We are going to be spending a lot of time together, this treadmill and me. And so far, so good! No one to hover over my shoulder waiting for their turn, no reset at 60 minutes. No need to pack a bag and drive to the gym. Nope! Just walk down a few Continue Reading
Weekly Recap: Not the best start to Boston training…
Well, not a very exciting week to recap. It was a bit of a bust. I know that this post is going to sound a little dramatic; I apologize in advance. There are people with real problems in the world; mine are trivial. But alas. It was supposed to be my first official week of Boston training. I'm back with my coach Antonio; I thought I was ready and psyched to do the work! But unfortunately, Continue Reading
