What a beautiful October week! It was a busy one, so I didn't have as much time to write here at The Right Fits as I would have liked. But as always, I'm here with my weekly recap and I am linking up again with Jess at Jess Runs ATL (who is running the Richmond Marathon in 3 weeks!) Join our link-up. Details below. Monday: Easy 4 mile run with Matilda after work. So dark.... Tuesday: 7 Continue Reading
Weekly Recap: A 15k Relay, a Pizza Farm, and a Birthday!
Hi everyone! I hope you had a wonderful fall week. Any memorable runs? New fitness classes? Please share in the comments! Here's a recap of my week of fitness & fitness fashion: Monday: I had the day off of work after the Twin Cities Marathon (remember that I paced my sister? Catch up here!) We had brunch at Barbette with my sister and her friend Kris, then we dropped them off at the Continue Reading
Weekly Recap: Fall Running!
I just love fall in the Twin Cities; October is my favorite month of the year! With the Twin Cities marathon on October 9th (next Sunday!), my birthday on the 14th, and our wedding anniversary on October 18th, there are plenty of reasons to celebrate...as well as great running weather, right? Though its darker in the morning, the weather has been wonderful. It's amazing how much better running Continue Reading
Weekly Recap: Run, Work, Run!
I swear this week consisted of two things- running and working. Not a lot of free time. I ran over 60 miles and I worked over 60 hours. I'm sure there are several of you who regularly work more than 60 hours/week, but this is not the norm for me. Except at certain times, i.e. it's always busy at quarter end. Woe is me, right? Stop complaining! ...But it did make training more Continue Reading
Weekly Recap: Big Cottonwood Training
Training for Big Cottonwood is up and running! I am back up to the high mileage again and excited to see what I can do at the Big Cottonwood Marathon. Here's how my training went this past week: Monday: The same workout as last week at the cabin, but this time I did it in Minneapolis before work- much easier on flat roads! 2 mile warm-up, 6x1200m at a 7:30 pace with 1 minute recovery, 2 Continue Reading
Weekly Recap: Training for the Big Cottonwood Marathon!
Yes, it's official! I registered for the Big Cottonwood Marathon on September 10th. Boston registration opens on September 12, so this will be my 'last chance marathon.' It starts at altitude, but it has a LOT of downhill. My coach said I'll need to do some hard training on the downhill to prepare my quads. But look at those stats- 25% of runners qualify for Boston at Big Cottonwood. I like Continue Reading
Weekly Recap: A Big Week of Training for Grandma’s Marathon 2016!
It's time for my weekly recap of training for Grandma's Marathon 2016! It was a big week in mileage, but still lots of fun. Here's how it all went down: Monday: Easy 5.5 miles with my new running partner Nordica. She had run 22 miles the day before, so she only wanted to do 5.5. After we split, I grabbed Matilda and we did another 2 miles for 7.5 miles total. I had a double run on the schedule, Continue Reading
