Late again with my weekly recap! But I have a legitimate excuse; I'm on vacation in Denmark/Sweden/Norway! I'll definitely share more on the trip, but let me just recap this past week in training for the Houston Marathon- only 14 weeks to go! Monday: 7.81 miles, 9:35 min/mile pace. It was so hard to get up early after such a fun weekend with my sister Erin and her friend Jen, who were in Continue Reading
Weekly Recap: Five Weeks Until the London Marathon
FIVE weeks until the London Marathon! Yikes. I have to admit, I'm pretty anxious to get back into real training, especially with the race so close, but my coach is being very conservative. He only wanted me to run every other day this week and always short/easy runs. If I made it through the week running pain-free, he would start to add mileage back to my schedule. So, here's how the past Continue Reading
Weekly Recap: Six Weeks Until The Phoenix Marathon!
Six weeks until the Phoenix Marathon. Time is flying by. This was an easier/cutback week compared to the previous week- still 60 miles total, but the workouts were definitely easier. Here's how it all worked out: Monday: Mile repeats at "tempo" pace. 2 mile warm-up, 4 mile repeats at tempo pace (7:40 min/mile), 2 minute rest in between, 1 mile cool-down, 7.75 miles total. I did this Continue Reading

Ahead of time I found this route on USATF's website. This 14 mile loop is flat and mostly on sidewalks. We were staying at the Windsong Resort in Provendenciales on Grace Bay, so we could start the run right from our Continue Reading
Happy New Year: A Look Back at 2013….
By Jess in MinneapolisThe other night I was chatting with my friend Kelly about the possibility of her doing another guest post (which I believe she is going to do; it will be about a unique and healthy start to 2014!) She mentioned how the blog is like a journal, documenting all the experiences and events of my life, (many of which she is also a part of), and I realized just how true that Continue Reading
