Last September, Dustin and I ran the Berlin Marathon (if you missed it, you can read all about it HERE!) It was our first international marathon. As fun as it was, we definitely can't plan every marathon around such a big trip. In other words, we won't be running international marathons every time. (What? You're saying Cincinnati won't be as interesting as Berlin? Ha!) Fortunately for you Continue Reading
Fits Do Race Reviews: Ron Daws 25k
This past Saturday, Dustin and I ran the Ron Daws 25k (for your reference, 25k =15.5 miles). We had 16 miles on our training schedule for Flying Pig so this race fit in very nicely. For a price of just $5, its hard to pass up! The race is small, with registration limited to just 200 runners. The race may be small, but most of the people who run it are pretty serious runners. Its very popular Continue Reading
Fits Do Race Reviews: Irish Run 8k
Whew! What a Sunday...as I mentioned in my earlier post today, it was a busy week for running, and I still had more running to do today after that post! Having run 19 miles yesterday, I knew that my legs would be tired today for the Irish Run 8k. On the drive over to St. Paul, I started regretting signing up. A non-running day would have been better for my tired body. The race had a 1:20 Continue Reading

There is also a 5k and a 10k option on race day.I ran this race as part of a bachelorette party (read all about it HERE). The bride-to-be had said we should all run it together as a "fun run." Now, I should mention that the bride-to-be's marathon PR is somewhere around Continue Reading
A Wintry Half Marathon and a Bachelorette Party!
Hey, 30 day plank challenge participants: today is a rest day, and tomorrow we do four minutes!I actually missed planking yesterday, so I needed to make it up today. I was able to do my 3.5 minutes with no break to the knees. I did rotate a few times to a side plank, but I kept working the whole 3.5 minutes. It was a challenge, but I think I am stronger than I was on 1/1/14.How do you feel? Continue Reading
Fits Do Race (Pre)views: Upcoming Thanksgiving Races in the Minneapolis Area.
By Cool J in MinneapolisThe past five years, my family has organized their own 5k. You can check those out HERE and HERE. We "organized" this 5k just for the family. It was an opportunity for us to share a fun run with the whole family, and it was a healthy event where everyone could join. We tried to make it authentic with shirts, medals, a post-race party like no other, and Continue Reading
