Monday: Barre at the barre. Still recovering from 26.2 on Saturday.
Tuesday: [solidcore] before work with my friend Lindsey, 4 mile run with her after work- so nice to have a friend who does two workouts in one day with you 🙂
Wednesday: Complete rest. I caught Dustin’s cold and needed the sleep in the morning. We had dinner plans with Dustin’s brother after work at Brasa, so just ended up being a rest day.
Thursday: 6.2 mile run with Lindsey and Matilda the vizsla. Super humid and then we got caught in the rain at the end of the run. Dustin must have known it was supposed to rain, as he left out a few towels by the front door for Matilda and me when we got back (he had already left for work.)
Friday: I took the day off of work as my brother-in-law and two nieces were staying with us, with my sister and my 3rd niece arriving later on Friday, as it was close/move-in weekend for them at their new house in Eden Prairie. I didn’t get out to run until about 7 am, which was a nice change. Beautiful morning for 7.5 miles.
Saturday: I ran with my sister Cresta, who I am coaching for the City of Lakes half marathon in September. We covered 9 miles together.
Sunday: Cresta, my oldest niece Maggie, and I went to a hip-hop spin class at Surge Cycle in St. Louis Park.
Surge is a great studio with good people- they even called me ahead of time to warn me that the hip-hop class was going to include explicit lyrics; I had emailed them about my 14-year old niece taking the class with us, and they were concerned about the music. How thoughtful! My sister wasn’t too concerned though, as her daughter is mature enough to know not to repeat that language.
Summary: About 27 miles of running, 1 barre, 1 [solidcore], 1 spin; a fun mix 😕
With my sister and family staying with us over the weekend, it was as though we tried to squeeze in everything Minneapolis-thing-to-do within one weekend. I think we forgot that they are LIVING here now, not just visiting.
We started on Friday with a trip to the troll tree on Lake Harriet, where the two youngest left letters for Mr. Little Guy. (He writes back within a few days- so adorable!)
For dinner, we went to Pizzeria Lola (Yes, I have been there a lot lately!)
We were also dog-sitting Breck the golden retriever. It was a full house this weekend!
I hope you had a great week- please join Jess and me with your weekly recap:
Those Glam Doll donuts look amazing! I love that you were able to spend time with family this week!
I think it was so nice of the spin studio to let you know about the lyric for the class – great customer service!
Thanks Kim!
Glam Doll is a lot like Voodoo donuts in Portland if you’ve ever been there. Also made from scratch daily and delicious 🙂
What an exciting week you had! Looks like you made the most of your family time. Ps – the dogs are adorable!!
Thanks Sara!
There’s always room for more dogs in the house, even with a full house of human guests 🙂
