The importance of core strength for runners cannot be overstated. When I attended the Minnesuing Running Camp last October, one of my takeaways was that 90% of running injuries could be prevented with a stronger core.
One simple way to strengthen your core is by holding the plank position. Simple, but effective.
With that said, it’s that time of year again- time for the Right Fits January Plank Challenge!
Just like in the past, we will work our way up to 5 minutes (300 seconds) on the last day of the month. I built rest days into the challenge, which you can always use to “make up” days if you miss a few. I set up the challenge to only increase by 10-20 seconds each time.
Please RSVP to the Facebook event HERE (and be sure to “like” The Right Fits on facebook too while you’re at it!)
We’ll get started on Friday, January 1 with a 15 second plank. Good luck!
